Artha is an initiative by Sri Sri Rural Development Program (SSRDP), The Art of Living to revive and celebrate our relationship with nature through ancient art forms.
Art in any form uplifts our soul, opens our imagination and calms our senses. India’s rich art and craft heritage is inspired by the natural and cultural landscape of the country. It depicts the beauty of nature and the harmonious relationship of man with Nature. It has been a source of creative expression (art) and livelihood (artha) for the traditional artisans.
With this initiative we aim to revive the ancient arts as a means of creative fulfilment, a means of reconnecting with nature and support the livelihood of the traditional artisans. We believe that honouring and celebrating these ancient art forms is a means to rekindle reverence for the beauty of Mother Earth and to make it a lot more beautiful for our future generations.
Cultivating a vibrant Art Community to share, learn and connect; exploring meaningful ways to nurture nature and creativity in everyday life.

Terracotta Placard: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one family)
Inspired by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar Ji’s vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, we believe in
in developing a sympathetic feeling for the art of all humankind. Superficially art from different cultures may look different but basically they all aim at creating beauty and attain joy.
We are located on a hill top at the Art of Living International Centre at Bangalore. Our studio, also known as the mud house, is our first experiment in natural building with earth bag construction technique
Pottery Making and Natural Building are one of the most ancient art forms on the planet and so is the human desire to create. Creating from the simplest of all materials – Mother Earth has restorative and meditative benefits. It’s a slow process rooted in human values and eco conscious living.
Our studio is a space to create, connect and grow amidst nature. The openness of the space invites kids, young and old alike apart from the usual birds and bees.
